Seismograph

This is an incomplete portable instrument for magnifying and recording vertical oscillations that occur during an earthquake designed by Emil Wiechert.
The missing 12kgr drum is oscillating and transfers to a stylus that eches a smoked paper with carbon soot.
Wiechert's seismographs still exist and hane been operating more than 100 years.
